The 2024 American action comedy film Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is helmed by Mark Molloy and penned by Will Beall, Tom Gormican, and Kevin Etten, based on a scenario by Beall. As the fourth film in the Beverly Hills Cop series and a follow-up to Beverly Hills Cop III (1994), Eddie Murphy, who also serves as producer, plays Axel Foley once more. Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot all return from earlier entries in the franchise, while Taylour Paige, Kevin Bacon, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt play new roles.

Following threats to the lives of his daughter Jane and his former partner Billy Rosewood, Axel Foley has returned to Beverly Hills. To unearth a plot, she and Axel enlist the help of Bobby Abbott, her ex-boyfriend, and his old friends John Taggart and Serge.

In the middle of the 1990s, Murphy's production firm started working on the movie. Over the years, several filmmakers and screenwriters, including the filmmaking team of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, were associated with the project, but it had several problems and had gone through "development hell."[2] Molloy was brought on as director in April 2022, and production got underway in California that August. It is also the first movie in the series where Paramount Pictures is not in charge of distribution.

Axel Foley is still a Detroit police detective working under the direction of his buddy, Deputy Chief Jeffrey Friedman, thirty years after the Wonder World event. Axel's pursuit of robbers who rob the Detroit Red Wings locker room during a game costs the city a lot of money. Under pressure from the police commissioner, Jeffrey declares his resignation. He advises Axel to contact his estranged daughter, Jane Saunders, a defense lawyer in Los Angeles who is being trained by Axel's buddy Billy Rosewood, a former police officer from Beverly Hills who is now a private investigator. Rosewood also calls Axel, alerting him about the risk to Jane's life. Jane has been under his guidance while she stands in for Enriquez, who has been falsely accused of killing an undercover agent named Copeland. Following the call, Rosewood finds evidence in the car where the crime was committed, but the cartel kidnaps her.

When Rosewood fails to respond, Axel returns to Beverly Hills and becomes worried. He discovers a suspicious group at Rosewood's office searching for something. Axel gets arrested after being chased by the group along Rodeo Drive, following a plan he found in Rosewood's office. At the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD), Axel meets Detective Bobby Abbott, who is Jane's ex and reconnects with Chief John Taggart, an old friend. Taggart introduces Axel to Captain Cade Grant, whom he had coached as a young police cadet. Axel is initially suspicious of Grant as he is wearing very nice clothing for a police officer. Despite Jane rescuing her father, she rebuffs Axel's attempts to reconnect. It is revealed that Axel and his family were threatened during a Detroit mafia investigation. Years ago, Axel had helped Jane and her mother move to Los Angeles, but they later separated, with Axel staying in Michigan. Abbott saves them from an attack on Wilshire Boulevard after convincing Jane to assist with the investigation. Taggart strongly defends Grant and his team when Axel raises concerns about the precinct's operations. He then bars Axel and suspends Abbott.

Without assistance, the three of them find a communication signal jammer and a camera in the vehicle where Copeland was killed. This leads them to believe that Grant's crew was searching for an SD card that had proof. Axel discovers that the address in Rosewood's agenda is a home owned by Grant, which is being used as a money-laundering organization for cartels. To gain access to the property during a neighboring showing, Axel enlists the help of his friend Serge. Axel finds further evidence there that connects to the murder of Copeland. Grant becomes aware of their presence through monitoring. After a disagreement with Jane, Axel and Abbott question Chalino, Enriquez's uncle. He explains that a narcotics cargo is leaving the port that evening and informs them that Grant assists in protecting the cartel. Grant frames Abbott and Axel, leading to their arrest for narcotics possession. With Abbott's hesitant assistance, Axel escapes capture and steals a helicopter. Grant fires the rotor as they approach the Beverly Hills Police Station, causing them to plunge to the ground. With Jeffrey's help, they can determine Jane's location by triangulating it to the cartel house."

Axel, Rosewood, and Abbott engage in a firefight with Grant's cartel soldiers, with Taggart joining them soon after. During the chaos, Jane escapes from prison. In the confrontation, Abbott shoots Grant in the head while Axel is injured while protecting Jane. After the incident, Rosewood and Taggart reconcile. The accusations against Enriquez are dropped due to new evidence. Axel, in the hospital, apologizes to Jane and they discuss the possibility of him moving to Los Angeles. After a few days, Axel is visited by Rosewood and Taggart, who are waiting for him to be released from the hospital. Axel convinces them to join him for dinner.
