Mark Wahlberg, Simu Liu, and Juliet Rylance are featured in Simon Cellan Jones' 2024 American adventure picture Arthur the King, written by Michael Brandt. Based on a true story, Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home is written by Mikael Lindnord. In the movie, an adventure racing team's captain becomes friends with Arthur, a wounded stray dog, and the two go on a demanding 435-mile (700-kilometer) endurance race in the Dominican Republic.

The movie was scheduled for release by Paramount Players in 2019. Filming got underway in the Dominican Republic in January 2021 after Lionsgate acquired it in June 2020. The movie was first available on March 15, 2024.

SHORT NOTE OF Arthur The King 2024 

American runner Michael Light and his adventure racing team get trapped on the first day in Costa Rica in 2015 when their leader makes the bad choice to paddle against the tide. One of the team members, Leo, is furious that Michael has disregarded their suggestions. In 2018, after a three-year break in his career, Michael chose to compete again in the hopes of finally winning a race since he was unhappy with himself. He picks two of his teammates: Chik, an older racer whose knee injury may not fully heal, and Olivia, a climber whose father pursued a career in the same sport. Flying to the Dominican Republic, they race for five days, largely over rugged jungle terrain, from the United States. Michael feeds meatballs to a stray dog in the changeover camp on the second day of the race. The dog discovers them amid the bush, much deeper into the race, and doesn't stop following them. Leo and the Team adopt the dog as one of their own and name him Arthur, the King when he saves them from tumbling over a cliff on a nighttime stroll. However, they had to leave Arthur on land to go kayaking on the water for the last portion of the competition, even if they were winning the race. However, they turn around and rescue the dog when they see he is about to drown while pursuing them. Due to the delay, the team finishes the race in second place and loses. When a veterinarian examines Arthur after he falls and discovers he has a serious parasite infection, they recommend putting him to sleep to stop his misery, but Michael refuses. The dog gets saved in the USA after he successfully transports him there.
